Satisfying Customers for over 20 Years
All our trips are quality fishing not quantity of anglers on the
boat. We take a maximum of 3 clients per boat. This gives each angler
greater fishing oppurtunity and more personalised tuition.
Suggestions Lightweight longsleeved shirts and wide brimmed hats in the
boat, and dont forget your sunglasses and camera.
Run Off - February to
March
This season can be chaotic to say the least
with some spectacular catches in both size & numbers. We often
have to carry 500 Squidgies in each boat to handle the workload. We
have exceeded captures of a hundred “Barra” in a day, the fishing can
be that HOT!
Main
Activities – Casting lures and flys at flooded creeks and
snags.
Species –
Barramundi, Mackerel, Queenfish, GT's, Threadfin & Blue Salmon,
Cobia, Tuna – Northern Blues & Mack, Trevally, Golden Snapper,
Black Jewfish
Live Aboard - March to May
Utilize the best fishing opportunities by not needing
to travel. Locating the boat in our secluded spots offer exclusive
fishing experiences. You will never miss the best popper sessions
early morning, eat the catch for lunch with the added ability to
relax onboard during the midday heat. Spend your afternoon preparing
for that late evening tide, followed by the well desired beer on the
top deck.

Barra and Bluewater
Dry Season - May to August
The species are similar to “Run Off”. Large bait balls
form off the coast from mid May and hold for a number weeks,
attracting queenfish & mackerel who must have been on steroids,
as we have captured some very large fish in this period. An example
was a 15kg Queenfish on fly in May 2007, that's a lot of queenie and
a lot of sweat!
Main
Activities – Trolling lures, casting to rocks & snags.
Blue water jigging. Fly fishing for Saratoga & Tarpon in the
billabongs
Species –
Barramundi – some good eating “Saltys” in this lot
Threadfin Salmon, GTs, Queenfish – expect some XOS fish, Trevally,
Spanish Mackerel – same as for queenfish and expect some genuine
“line burners”, Tuna, Cobia, Fingermark Bream, Saratoga, Tarpon
Barra and Bluewater
Buildup - September to November
This is the best period for sight casting/poloroiding
the flats for “Barra” & Threadfin, This can be both an exciting
& a testing time. Accurate casting with lure or fly is essential
as an angler may have 50 shots in a day, how many you capture is all
up to you and your skills. A note on this style of fishing, we can't
over emphasize how important it is to have the best quality
sunglasses money can buy. We have invested inShimano Tournament and it is
our strongest recommendation that clients do the same if they want to
be successful at this style of fishing.

& Tarpon in the billabongs
Mothership based fishing safaris are one of the most exciting
& rewarding fishing adventures any angler can be part of. We
started with Rex Hunt and his mates many years ago and the tradition
continues with Rex returning each year to fish the wet season “build
up” in the October – November period. You will have the opportunity
to fish any number of locations along the Top End's unspoiled,
sparsely or unpopulated coastline. You may experience such
destinations as Bathurst & Melville Islands, Coburg Peninsular,
Fog Bay, Perrin Islands, Port Keats or any number of other famous Top
End fishing hot spots. Who knows were the tides or fishing may take
us. Our fishing safari's are limited to nine anglers who will be
accommodated in air-conditioned comfort on our mother ship. Safaris
are restricted to only three a year to take advantage of the best
tides, and so the fishing opportunities are limited and on that basis
we advise early enquiry and bookings to avoid disappointment.
Species – Around 30 species that you
may tangle with, including the usual suspects of barramundi,
mackerel, threadfin and blue salmon, black jew fish, multiple species
of cod, fingermark bream, golden snapper and not forgetting the best
accompaniment to a cold beer, mud crabs!
So at the end of a braid burning, mono stretching day sit back and
relax with an icy cold beer or nicely chilled white wine, and watch
one of the many brilliant Top End sunsets while fresh barra sizzles
on the BBQ. Perhaps the cook is hard at work on a dish of chilli
& ginger mud crab, just sensational, it doesn't get any better
than this! If you want more action after dinner then just drop a bait
over the side and hang on, there are some serious mega line burners
lurking in the depths.
